ANGELA MARY ELIZABETH CHATYRBOK
Angela Mary Elizabeth Chatyrbok, 87, of Winnipeg, passed away on May 1, 2026. She was deeply loved and will be remembered always by her family.
Born March 13, 1939, in Pouce Coupe, BC, Angela was the daughter of Fanny and George James. She dedicated her career to social work with Child and Family Services and was a lifelong advocate for children through both her work and her support of the Foster Parents Plan organization.
A longtime member of St. Francis Anglican Church (formerly St. Anne’s), Angela taught Sunday school and supported church fundraisers. She was an avid supporter of the arts and cherished time spent at the lake with her family. She took immense pride in her eight grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Angela is lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Mike Chatyrbok; her children, Kathleen (Chris) Lalonde, David (Sheila) Chatyrbok, Darryl (Angela) Chatyrbok, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Chatyrbok; her eight grandchildren; her sister Gloria Mariash (Ed); her brother Michael James (Margo); and extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Fanny Dora James (nee Riley) and George James; her sister Kathleen St. Goddard; and several in-laws.
A funeral service and reception will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Anglican Church, 253 Burrin Ave., Winnipeg. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
